What's Going On!

  • After 16 years of research Tom's biography of R.L.Y. "Lud" Peyton is now available.

  • Tom has already started work on his next Burnt District history, A People's History of Bates County, Mo., 1840 to 1870.  If you have stories or material you would like included in this work please get in touch with Tom.

  • Research is well underway for a biography of Charles Sims.  Sims, a Harrisonville lawyer, served in the Missouri General Assembly from 1848 to 1858, and in 1856 was a candidate for Lt. Governor.  Had Sims not pulled out of the race he would have become Missouri's Governor.

  • Tom has completed a Jackson County, Missouri database. The database contains key information from the 1850 and 1860 censuses.  If you have Jackson County stories for the period 1840 to 1870 please forward them.
